an era defining collection,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Disco Inferno: 20 Smash Hit 70's Dance Classics (Audio CD)
I fear that after a while there really is nothing like late 70's disco music as defining a whole generation of "baby boomers" who had it all and got down and boogied while the whole world was going to hell all round them.
This nostalgic collection has the very best of the best ~ each track is a stand out piece of magic, the like of which truly is not made any more though sampled, referred to never emulated.
I dare any buyer of this CD to listen it through without feeling the desperate need to get up, shake out that arthritic hip, flex those creaking knees and slap and clap your way through Chic's Le Freak, Sylvester's seminal and disco defining You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
If this isnt enough there are added little (almost forgotten) gems such as Rose Royce's Is it Love You're After and Dionne Warwick and the Detroit Spinners Then Came You.
If you are done with the ironing by the end of the CD you an relax with a cool glass of something and thank your lucky retro stars that such artists as Isaac Hayes existed and produced the dynamic Theme from Shaft
