A Great Album - Forget The Hype!,
This review is from: Born This Way (Audio CD)
Ok, I'm not going to rate every song individually as I feel that this can only be appreciated once you have purchased a CD and then you can compare notes.
All I would say is that the album's pace is relentless.
My favourite tracks are Schliebe - the beat to this half-German spoken tune is obscene! I agree with others who say The Edge Of Glory is the best song on the album - it is a melody masterpiece and so beautifully sung.
I also have to mention You And I - It reminds me of All Around The World by Oasis. An end-of-album slow anthem, catchy too. Definitely written to be performed as a "Hey Jude" style concert encore.
If you were unlucky enough not to catch GaGa on Radio 1's Big Weekend then try looking on a well known online video site for the performances. GaGa pounding the piano Elton John style is magnificent, as are her vocals, delivering piano performances of Edge Of Glory, Speechless and You And I.
She seems to have dropped about 50% of the gimmicks. I am happy about that. The Radio 1 performance and the CD have completely made me re-think and re-evaluate my position on GaGa - Brilliant!
