This review is from: Precious Inheritance: The Conservation of Welsh Vernacular Buildings (Paperback)
A slim volumne - for the price - with a simple message: use traditional materials on old buildings and keep them maintained. Some figures and footnotes would have been reassuring, but the case is well made. Blundell avoids romanticising old buildings and deals with their conservation and presention with a clear head. It deserves to be read by a wide audience, or at least to heighten the vigilance of conservation officers, in order to stop the piecemeal loss of Welsh vernacular architectural features.
What a difference it could make to the terraces and high streets currently showing a grim, depressed face to the world.
