This review is from: All Quiet on the Orient Express (Paperback)
Some of the people who have left bad reviews just don't seem to get it, but then the world would be a very dull place if we all liked the same things! I thought this book was brilliant - there was an undercurrent of slow, creeping menace in almost every scene. Mills has taken a look at a seemingly ordinary bunch of people in a seemingly ordinary part of the world and put a dark filter over everything. Innocuous events seem vaguely threatening and it all seems to be building towards something dastardly.....
A rare book, one that is unlike anything you've read before, one that isn't trying to be a bestseller or pander to the mainstream, and all the better for it.
