This review is from: Lewis - Series 7 [DVD] (DVD)
I had high expectations of series 7, but was slightly disappointed. These final 3 episodes had a "tired" feeling about them and they were not up to the standard of the previous 6 series. Nevertheless, this was one of the better crime series from the U.K. and I am sorry to see it go.

Mr. Stringer says:
I thought the first episode was plodding and almost a "Lewis by numbers" episode. very forgettable. The other two however were very good. I just wish they gave more time over to character instead of crime. Morse was all about character and the crimes were the backdrop.
I cheered when Lewis and Hathaway went to the pub and started conversing about things outside of work, but it was short lived. Perhaps, because the Morse episodes were a good 15 minutes longer, then that gave opportunity for long conversations that didn't move the plot along.
They have finished it at the right time, and i'm pleased Robbie's relationship with Laura happened naturally and wasn't forced, as if they finally felt the time was right and that priorities had shifted. Can't fault the acting

I'd heard that the 3rd episode is really a double-episode. Wondering if you found that to be the case, without telling me anything about it. Otherwise it may be faulty product if there was meant to be a double ep and you didn't receive one?
