As a writer, B P Perry is a pretty good cartoonist.

"Voice of a generation" is a tag that is given out far too easily. He's definitely the voice of grizzled detectives from the Lincolnshire coastline.

Mr. H says:
I've just read it for a second time, and only then do the hidden subtexts really come to life. You can tell that Perry had a hard time overcoming his poverty ravaged Northern childhood, but if the abuse, the bullying and the operations led to this book, then it was worth it. For me. Not him.
