1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE FAKE COUNTERFEIT HEADPHONES, 17 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Bose ® QuietComfort ® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black/Silver (Electronics)
I should have known better but was attracted to the low price of these headphones. Amazon had sent me an email informing me of lower price so I was somewhat fooled and ordered straight away without checking previous reviews. It appears that this is not the first time fake headphones have been sold. The product was obviously cheap and nasty as soon as I handled them. A phone call to BOSE UK confirmed that they were counterfeit. No serial number displayed in places where it should. I feel really duped by Amazon who should be doing more to protect their customers. I am a Amazon Prime member and usually buy most of my shopping through Amazon. I am having great doubts now about them.

Interesting review. I've noticed a couple of instances recently where Amazon have made a dive for the moral low ground. I've been shopping at Amazon for over 12 years and used to buy everything from them but where they used to be like M&S, now they're more like Tescos.

I hope you get refunded OK.

That's terrible and a lesson to all of us when ordering from the market place. I assume that it was the market place in this case as Amazon themselves would not acquire fake headphones for legal reasons alone.

It was Amazon markerplace and to be fair to them as soon as I had informed them they cut link to the guilty seller. Looks like they are selling the phones direct mow so assume they are genuine product. Decided to buy diect from Bose who whilst more expensive offered interest free payments and I know I've got genuine article.

I've just bought a set of Quiet Comfort 3 Bose headphones from Spursource on Amazon. I put the battery in the charger and plugged it in, and 3 mins later there was a huge bang, lots of dark smoke and the battery flew across the room! I complained to Bose only to be told that they were fakes and they would investigate. Lets hope that now I've told Amazon they can stop any more dangerous goods from being sent out!

While I understand you've had a bad experience, this is not a product review, and unfairly reduces the rating of these great headphones.

Sorry to hear you got a set of cheap knock-offs. But you should have complained to Amazon and left bad feedback on the sellers profile. Its not Bose or the headphones fault that you fell victim to a scam and you can't review a product that you never actually used.

Amazon - I think this review should be removed as a result

I take your point but sellers profile dissapeared from site. Where else then do I warn other buyers to beware of this scam? I personally always look at buyers reviews when buying a product rather than the sellers and probably do the majority of people using the site. For what it's worth my review is over a year old now. I purchased the same headphones direct from Bose and can say they are 5 STAR value.
