A Thousand Bones,
This review is from: A Thousand Bones (Paperback)This is a story of Louis Kincaids lover; Joe Fry, revisiting her past as a sherriff in the small town Echo Bay where theres been a discovery of several bones in the nearby woods. Its set in the 1970's and follows the Echo Bay department chasing down a killer and finding out who the bones belong to.
Its a pretty long, drawn out book for the story involved. The pace is seriously lagging and it was in need of some trimming down by the publishers. Secondly not even one of the characters are particularly well written, theres no back stories which makes keeping track of the inane townsfolk and police force pretty hard going. And thirdly I bought this book thinking it was the first of a series. At no where does it mention that this is infact part of a long running series by Parrish.
All in all a pretty good story if not slightly drawn out. Read as part of the series but not worth it for a standalone.
