Thickly sliced ham,
This review is from: Son of Frankenstein [DVD] (DVD)
For me, this is one of the most entertaining horror films of all time. It has an almost frenzied and farcical movement to it that is mainly
due to Basil Rathbone's near paranoid condition throughout the last half of the film. It is "over the top" without a doubt (especially the
scenes between Rathbone and Lionel Atwill) It is easy to see where Mel Brooks got the inspiration for Young Frankenstein. The film is an easy target
for critics but in my opinion, remains a well made, well acted and exciting classic. Some dark humour too!
