This review is from: The Paston Letters A Selection in Modern Spelling (Oxford World's Classics) (Paperback)
The narrative style has changed so much since the 15th century that it is difficult to tease out what is being written of. It was of course contemporary, but even though it has been couched in more modern text, the essence of most of the writing is lost on non-scholars like myself. I anticipated an insight into medieval daily life but only found codified pices of writing which expressed little when seen in today's context.
Although well researched and presented, I found this hard going.
