This review is from: JVC In Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones with Carry Pouch (Electronics)
These ear phones are `just the job' & are relatively quite cheap compared to others out there, they sound really VERY good. I especially like the base response (because of the shape of the ear buds I think), the treble is also nice & crisp too. Once you get used to the fact that to appreciate the base tone properly you have to push the ear piece right into the ear canal. There are three different sizes of earpiece & surprisingly I can just about manage to fit the small ones. The travel pouch that comes with it is very useful to keep all those other MP3 type accessories in like spare battery & ear buds etc.
You can turn the "active" noise suppression on & off; I prefer to keep it on as it sounds better anyway. There is a very convenient unit on the earphone lead that also allows you to adjust the volume. This unit takes two normal AAA batteries and lasts many hours, enough for the average flight to Europe or the Middle East I guess.
The reason I bought the noise-reduction ear pieces was for when I was flying & to cut out the background noise of the airplane, which works very well indeed. I'm sure it would fair just as well on a train etc.
I'm sure there are many other more expensive versions on the market, but I am really pleased with these ones & because of their low price, it won't break my heart or the bank should I lose or break them.
An "in-flight" plug adaptor would be an especially good idea to include & useful too. AIRPLANE HEADPHONE SOCKET ADAPTOR
You don't have to play music when using these, they are that good for example that when you're on an airplane & the unit is switched on, and the headphones reduce the noise in the cabin from a dull roar to a quiet hiss. Much more bearable believe me.
There's a 'monitor' switch on the unit that enables you to listen to speaker announcements without having to remove the earpieces all the time :-)
