Album Of Memory,
This review is from: The History Of Blue Beat - The Birth Of Ska (B1-BB25 A & B Sides) (Audio CD)
As a fan of ska (60s &80s) I'm always keen to hear the rarer tracks that appear from time to time so when I saw this 3 CD album recommended to me by Amazon I was intrigued. The music pre-dates much of the stuff we have come to know as early ska but it's interesting for fans to hear the roots of what was to follow. The 48 tracks are in chronological order from 1960 to 1961 the and interestingly original catalogue numbers have also been included. My personal favourites were 'Kissin' Gal# by Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, also 'Lover Boy' by Derrick Morgan and 'Cool School'. The sound quality was good and the value excellent; this is a great introduction for those unfamiliar with the music.
