An un-put-down-able believable read.,
This review is from: One Moment, One Morning (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)Its been a long time since I cried when reading a book, but for me the story and events and emotions described in 'One Moment, One Morning' were so realistic, believable and poignant, that I found myself crying in several places.
Sarah Rayner has written an engrossing and well-observed book, telling of the strong binds of female friendship which hold us steady in the face of sudden and heartbreaking tragedy and all that life can throw at you. The feelings, observations and events of one week in the lives of Anna, Lou and Karen are told beginning with one fateful morning. What transpires in this one week for them all, both shatters and redefines who they are and what their lives mean and become.
Well written, and fast paced. (My only gripe would be the clumsy allotment postscript which tries to tie everything together on another Sunday, some months later. It didn't work for me).
A recommended read.
