This review is from: Walk the Lines: The London Underground, Overground (Hardcover)
This works on a number of levels. It offers an urban guide to some routes you might like to walk for pleasure or exercise; It is the story of one man's personal quest to achieve their self-set goal and their encounters along the way; It is a reminder that many of the everyday things we pass by without a thought are often worth a second look; and it makes you appreciate the true extent of the size of the London Underground.
The facts about London Underground and the areas it passes through (or under) that are dotted throughout the book are interesting and, thanks to Mark Mason's engaging writing, you can experience the effort of walking every mile of London's Underground without leaving your chair or getting wet.
