VEHO VFS-008 SMARTFIX SLIDE SCANNER,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Veho VFS-008 Smartfix Scan to SD Stand Alone Slide and Negative Scanner (Office Product)I can only say at this moment in time that I bought it because it was as cheap as identical products being sold second hand on Ebay via auction.
I will have to make an amendment when I have used it sometime during the summer months when I will have more time.
I have read previous reviews and concluded that it appeared to be the best available and the easiest to use. Only time will tell if this is true.
WORKING EXPERIENCE NOW SHOWN BELOW:-
I have finally got it out of the box (end of July) and quite frankly, its a doddle. The battery was partially charged so it was a case of straight into slide copying after reading the quick set-up instructions. Everything went smoothly and I had done my first 40 slides within 60 minutes of getting the items out of the tube. So far I have done about 600 of my 3000 plus slides. I would say that taking things steadily, it takes about 15 minutes to do 40 slides, so it should take 11 hours to do the lot. This includes letting the copier adjust the background light to the optium setting (3 or 4 secs, putting the slides back in their boxes and brushing off the odd bit of fluff etc.
The only other functions I have performed is deleting a few that I copied twice and turned a few round that were stored upside down in the slide box and therefore fitted upside down in the slide holder. The instruction manual comes on a disc and runs to 37 pages but you only need to print the first 25 pages for normal use. The remainder cover fancy adjustments of the photos via a computer.
Two minor problems have cropped up:- 1, It takes about 8 hours to recharge the battery via my computer USB slot with the cable supplied so I have made enquiries to get a AC adaptor for charging. 2, The screen seemed a bit dull and scratched but today on close examination I found that it had a plastic protection cover which fitted perfectly onto the screen with no tab to indicate the need for removal.
I have viewed the SD card on a 32 inch TV and I am well pleased with the results.
I can thoroughly recommend this product which I purchased from Amazon at a very competitive price.
