This review is from: London and Londoners in the 1850s & 1860s (Victorian London Ebooks Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
It makes one see the similarities between people then and people now. I,being 79,can vuagley remember the remains of several aspects of the daily life described in the book (e.g. one single ,brass , cold-water tap in the kitchen, very shallow kitchen sink,dolly-tub and wash-board,friendly,always plain-to-be-seen local bobby with whistle at-the-ready ,,black-lead and steel open range with cast iron,enamel-lined Judge pans.
But people react just the same to similar situations as they did then,in the author's lifetime and in my youth.
This book is certainly worth reading. My son bought it first for his Kindle and highly recommended it to me.
