This is a great guide to a great city. Frommer's are new to me, I have always tended towards Rough Guide or Lonely Planet in the past, but this is book is a bit of a revelation and an introduction into a different type of guide book- one that has opinions. I've bought the Nashville and Memphis and this follows the same template-and is recommended.
I really like the style in which it is written and the sheer detail that has been gone into. OK, it's heavy and you probably won't want to lug it about with you all day, but part of the pleasure of travel guides is the armchair planning and the post-return de-brief and this book supplies those plentifully. The map at the back is becoming de rigeur for big city guides and is, orf course welcome and, of course detailed.
Thoroughly recommended.
