Genuinely Cool Bulbs that Do the Job Well,
This review is from: Reon 4.5W LED GU10 Energy Saving Spot Light (Replaces 50W Halogen Bulbs) (Kitchen & Home)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Reon light bulb will save you money in the long run pure and simple.
The question the reader needs to ask is
What is the light power like compared to ordinary halogen bulbs?
I received my bulb for review and decided to test the bulb along side other halogen.
Firtsly the light given is instantaneous- no waiting for it to warm up like low energy bulbs.
The light was instant and bright.
If anything the light given is much better than the four halogen ones we have in our bedroom.
The light is described as 'warm' and this is perfect for a bedroom.
If you bought the harsher bright lights this would simply be too much. Save those type for the kitchen.
When I held my hand to the bulb I felt no heat given out,
I compared this to the halogen's output of heat. I had to withdraw my hand quickly because with that heat I could could grill a pork chop.
The reon remained cool.
That is where most of the energy goes on heat. The halogen type are very heavy on energy use.
The light remained constant and better than the halogen after a long testing.
hard to believe the power consumption is a mere 4 watts
The blurb on the back boasts a fabulous A+ rating for power consumption.
I will be ordering 3 more to replace the existing halogen ones.
The packaging was adequate and protective, I need notice a 'rattle; from the bulb and expected it to have been damaged in transit but this was not the case.
Whether I have a rogue one or this is a feature of the bulbs i do not know.
When fitting the bulb it seemed to be a little tight as if the 'prongs' were closer together than the halogen ones.
A simple glance to line the settings up was all it took.
(If you are replacing halogens make sure they cool for a long long time before handling.
All in all?
A really effective replacement for the high power using halogens.
