An alternative to what?,
This review is from: Alternative 90's (Audio CD)
When you realise that half the tracks on here are on the 2 Unbelievable collections and that many of these made the mainstream pop charts this collection falls flat on its face.
The most obvious ones missed off are the Family Cat who were founded in 1989 when they had a single and LP on the Indie charts but in the 90s there were many more like Steamroller-a 7 minute plus blast of solid rock which is comparable to Hey Jude. The track was included on one of the Beechwood LPs and the Cat would go on to make 2 further albums.
Surely there's enough little known Indie from bands formed at the end of the 80s without going into Oasis or Blur.
So why call it Alternative 90s?
This is a comp which has had no thought behind it and is not worth a pig's ass
