This review is from: BatRecycle - Battery Recycling Bin with built in tester (Electronics)
This is a well- thought-out product but not a perfectly well thought out product. It has slots for AAA, AA, C AND D batteries, all the common cylindrical ones, to be tested before recycling. Each slot is tight and it is something of a struggle to get some in. There are 4 buttons to be pressed to test the batteries. Each is labelled with the battery type in capitals raised from the plastic base. They are difficult to see in some lights. Why could it not have been wired so that one button tested any battery? For a few pence more the labelling of the buttons could have been clearer.
When you test a battery a line of LEDs from red through amber to green tells you whether to ditch it or keep it for a while longer. This function seems to work quite well.
There is no facility to test flat 9v batteries (PP3s) - a trick missed I think. Do I keep a separate battery tester just for these?
It's a plastic pot with a (limited) battery tester in the lid. I already had a battery tester (which told me that 4 Duracell AAs were dead when this product said there was life in them yet. I've also got loads of plastic pots. Did I need this? No. Do I like it? Yes, with the above gripes.
