This review is from: Secrets (Paperback)
If you like good chick lit with a happy romantic ending - then Freya North Secrets is for you. Set in Saltburn by the Sea, a seaside town in the North East of England. It is a story of a single Mum, Tess, who escapes London and growing debts to start a new life as a housekeeper to a single business man, Joe. They both have secrets that they eventually discover that brings them closer. It is a lovely story of how a young Mum settles down in a new place and makes friends and starts to make a new home for herself and turns her life around. Joe thinks his life is perfect with a good job, no-commitment one night stands and a quiet life at home; until Tess walks in on his life. This story has its typical ups and downs and fall outs but all ends happily ever after. The book will also make you want to visit Saltburn by the Sea with its lovely descriptions.
Here's the text on the back of the book:
"They drive each other crazy.
And they both have something to hide.
But we all have our secrets.
It's just some are bigger than others...
Joe has a beautiful house, a great job, no commitments - and he likes it like that. All he needs is a quiet house-sitter for his rambling old place by the sea. When Tess turns up on his doorstep, he's not sure she's right for the job. Where has she come from in such a hurry? Her past is a blank and she's a bit of an enigma. But there's something about her - even though sparks fly every time they meet.
And it looks like she's here to stay..."
