Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Man At The Top - The Complete First Series [DVD] [1970] (DVD)
Wonderful. Given that tv dramas from this era now seem incredibly dated I think that this one holds up pretty well. Can't wait for series two when, if I remember rightly, Joe reappears wearing a dodgy 70's moustache.

I've contacted Network and they say they've got no plans yet. Damn!

Edit: It's coming out April 11th 2011

I hate people who dismiss old shows/films on the grounds that they're 'dated'. It is perfectly possible to have a series that reflects the era in which it is made and still be good drama. 'Man At The Top' is a good example.

Arguably the definitive example. I think Joe Lampton is one of the all time great, fully rounded, complex and multi-dimensional characters on TV. One minute you want to punch the bastard in the face, the next your heart is breaking for him.

Not unlike his contemporary David Callan, come to think about it.

DATED is the RECENT RUBBISH TV AFTER 1985

FILMS/TV SERIES/POP FROM 60s/70s=CLASSIC

I wish people would think before making nonsensical daft statements calling golden
oldies CLASSIC BEST EVER TV as "dated" Pff

The correct view of "dated" is to AVOID ALL
RECENT RUBBISH ABYSMAL TV of the 90s/00s
