Never judge a book by its cover...,
This review is from: Henri Cartier-Bresson: Photographer (Hardcover)
One wonders whether the master himself was fully satisfied with the odd choice of dust jacket.
The US version of this stunning tome sports a poo-brown jacket with a 70's style red letraset font.
But, I forgive this misdemeanour, for the book is a most joyous celebration of that most brilliant of photographers. Along with a recent acquisition of Eugene Atget's catalogue (in book form I hasten to add), this new addition to my library exhibits a lustrous catalogue of duo-tone plates (hand picked by the maestro himself, no less)and I think should be buried with me when I too shuffle off this mortal coil.
Until that day I will luxuriate in this splendidly printed treasure trove of wondrous images.
I have exhausted all my superlatives!
