Bialetti Milk Frother is FANTASTIC!,
This review is from: Bialetti Tuttocrema Frother (Kitchen & Home)
I bought the Bialetti Milk Frother after doing extensive internet research and reading reviews on a whole variety of websites(I know - sad, isn't it) because I really like decent latte but I hadn't had much success at home. When I took delivery I wasn't sure what to expect, but the quality and feel of the frother are fine for me - plus, it makes up to 3 cups of really nice coffee using the size I do, so its social too.
I like that it isn't all chrome and shiny, that it has a sort of rustic feel to it and it is amazingly simple to use. The only time I've had any problem with the froth - and that wasn't because I failed to get any, but that it was thinner than the usual froth - was when the milk had reached boiling point. I normally measure out how much milk I need (from just enough for one mug, to a pint and a bit for three mugs). Then I froth it. From hot or from cold obviously depends what I'm making. The milk froths equally well for both.
If I'm making a hot drink, I either heat the milk to hot but not boiling in the microwave - depends how much time I've got - then finish it on the cooker, or just heat it from cold on the cooker top, but that takes longer and the jug is harder to clean. I haven't had any problems with getting it clean. I always rinse it with cold or tepid water immediately after frothing, making sure that the water goes into the hole where the metal rod goes up and down in the centre of the plastic lid and that the netting parts that do the frothing get a good jet of water through them. Then you can either leave it at that or wash it properly with warm, soapy water, later on but you'll always need to give it a rinse to make sure that no detergent gets left in any part. This would interfere with its frothing action in the milk.
So - for me - a massive WELL DONE!! to Bialetti for this affordable, durable, simple product. Mine's a decaf latte, when you're ready... ;o)
