This review is from: Letters and Papers Illustrative of the Reigns of Richard Iii and Henry Vii: Volume 1 (Cambridge Library Collection - Rolls) (Paperback)
This book is a reproduction of Gairdner's original 1861 publication of some of the letters concerning Richard III and Henry VII. Be prepared to buy at least Volume II if you want to get access types of letters other than those from "official" state papers such as those in the BL Harleian MS 433 for Richard III. Although a lot of useful information is available, it needs to be 'mined'. There is no index and the style and translations is definitely of the period. This is a book that will repay study, but over the long term - years rather than months. There may be later publications that present some of the materials in a more modern manner, such as the Richard III Society' publication of the Harleian MS 433 (4 volumes, with an index - Published 1979-1983).
