I love Jill.,
This review is from: Millie's Fling (Paperback)If i had to choose only one author whose books i had to read for the rest of my life, I'd choose Jill Mansell. I read Marian Keyes, and Sophie Kinsella and the like and i'm always left wondering why nobody i know has heard of Jill! I mean, as much i like MK, she aint a patch on Jill.
Anyway, Millie's Fling, what a brilliant book this is. Lighthearted, funny, warm and loving. It's just so great. It is actually hilarious in most parts. I found myself smiling so much through this book. Hester and her beauty salon mishap, oh my god, hilarious. As with most of Jill's books, you actually wish you could climb into the book and live in the world these people occupy. There's some suprising moments that make you gasp, and there's the slushy moments that make you feel lovely.
Of course there is the dashing, handsome men. Hugh, (sigh) he sounds delightful, Lucas, oh, another hilarious Hester thing connected with him. And Nat, i loved him! And the other women in the book. Orla, she sounds fabulous. You can just tell that JM was smiling as she was writing this fabulous book.
I could go on but i cant think of any more gushing words for the book. And if i did, i would be even more annoying! I cant recommend it enough. I cant recommend JM enough.
