Good Spec, good Looking - VERY POOR QUALITY,
This review is from: HP Pavilion G6-1253SA 15.6 inch Laptop PC (Intel Core i3-370M Processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium) (Personal Computers)Good spec Laptop but BEWARE. All G6 models use the same mouse/trackpad buttons/case etc.. My left mouse button felt cheap from day one. 1 week after purchase it sunk below facia of laptop. after two weeks LIGHT use, button made a crack like sound and squeaks and cracks when pressed. I would have originaly thought "Oh I have a faulty one off laptop." But NO My girlfriends brother got a different model of the G6 to mine and his left mouse button failed after a week! More bad news is some reviews online confirm others are suffering the same fate. If you are considering buying this laptop try out the left mouse button in the shop. IT WILL FAIL ON YOU!! MASSIVE HP RECALL AHOY!!!! Wish I had waited and got another Laptop. Cheap poor component. Ps - I love everything else about this laptop. I checked online and instore locally and found out all G6's are the same. I dont normally review anything but wanted people to know about this design flaw. I just dont have ANY faith on the mouse buttons holding out AT ALL after using 4 different models of the PAVILLION g6. I will now go for another laptop when I have my money back. I can only assue that other high rated reviews were just after purchase as the mouse bittons would not last longer than a month in ANY situation....

We have a G6 from middle of last year where the mouse button broke and was fixed by HP, unfortunately it has deteriorated again since. I had hoped HP would have redesigned the parts by now to make it strong enough but from your review it looks like either they haven't or there is stock with older parts still being sold.

From my experience and research on net...HP (and probably other computer companies) do a cheepo/standard repair in the hopes of keeping the product going until it is out of warranty...personally I won't buy another HP which is a shame as they appear to offer good value for spec...For mouse problem I wd use a plug-in one...much better for your hands as well...

Could not agree more. We bought 5 HP's for office use, keyboard's fell apart and batteries fail after 13 months. Repair costs are similiar to buying a new entry level lap top. I hate to be cynical but, given my experience, these are value engineered to fail just after warranty expires :(.........will not be buying anything from HP again.

Yup, same issue for me. 2 hp g6 laptops, left button failed within a week! shame tho, my old hp was great button collapsed after 2 years tho big difference! in the end i was offered the lenovo z575. not as pretty but wow what a great laptop! great build quality. hp should be recalling. the left button is massively improtant and used the most i would say! shame on them!

Mr. Leigh M. Brothwell says:
I had the same problem too, my left mouse button is broken and means playing games is out of the question. I now have to order a mouse to use instead. I expected more from HP...
