This review is from: d-Block Chemistry (Oxford Chemistry Primers) (Paperback)
d-block chemistry is a dodgy subject at the best of times. This is mainly due to the nature of it and much of it requires a lot of maths and advanced theories to explain it so finding a book that can lever you into it gradually is hard to find. This on the other hand being written by my own lecturer Mark Winter who actually knows what he is talking about and knows how to teach people at the same time is a superb book. It is concise without being boring and lacking in content (In fact the content is far from lacking if anything this book is so dense with facts it can make it a little hard to revise from since you pretty much have to read it from cover to cover. Miss a paragraph and you will miss a lectures worth of facts) but other than that I love it.
Basically if you are doing any sort of basic d-block chemistry then you would be pretty idiotic not to buy this book.
