Set in the future where bar code tattoos have just become mandatory to anyone over the age of seventeen.
Kayla is approaching her seventeeth birthday but is hesitant about the tattoo. After her mother commits suicide, she is betrayed by her friends, and some people's tattoos malfunctioning, Kayla freaks and runs away.
She has always had strange dreams, but when she reaches a rebel group in the mountains bordering Canada, their leader teaches Kayla how to use the power of telepathy and telekenis.
People all over the world are rebelling against the tattoo, and the government is becomeing ever more vicious in their acts in quelling them.
Kayla and the moutain rebels join together and use their combined powers to storm the government stronghold, fighting for freedom and a new beginning...
I loved it and thought it was very well written.
