Its not the film,
This review is from: First Blood (Paperback)
Why did I give this amazing story 3 stars? Plain and simple really. Though the story is very good, gripping and wanting you to constantly turn the page I found that the poor editing and punctuational errors denied this novel 5stars, and consequently, slowed the reading down to a crawl whilst trying to make heads or tails of what is being read.
The movie was good in its own rights -I'd give that 5stars- but the book is better, as is usually the case. The similarites between the two are few, so those out there wanting to read the movie I'd suggest putting subtitles on the dvd.
I would highly recommend First Blood to anyone who enjoy's sitting down for 'a good ol' read' no matter the genre they prefer. There's somthing here to cover most!
Hope this review helps:)

hi in fairness to the author it was one of his first books and no one he expected to succeed. but a good read and a better ending than the movie.

I can't really agree with your points about poor editing. How so? This isn't an e-book that was self-published and not proof-read. I have read the book probably 10 or 12 times and can't really see it.
