I am bewildered by this book. Had it not been that it had such glowing reviews, I would have discarded it anon. It was long and drawn out to the point of being boring. The characters were sulky and unpleasant and I did not warm to any of them.
I confess that this is my first Maeve Kerrigan adventure so perhaps that is the problem. I felt that the constant hints as to events past were annoying as I just did not know what was going on.
I have not been stimulated enough by this book to read the previous adventures of D.C. Kerrigan or her superiors Derwent and Godley.

I have really enjoyed this series of books but can understand that you might find them confusing as they need to be read in order to understand the characters
