Green Day take another thoughtful step forward!,

This review is from: Warning (Audio CD)
After the success of Nimrod, Green Day's last album, the trio take a step forward from hardcore Punk Rock into a more cleaner type of music, settlling into a mixed variety of music styles. If you thought Nimrod was the last time they were going to attempt something new for a change, then you were wrong. It seems that Green Day have decided to go even further with their new album, Warning. The album starts off with a slow-beat titled track "Warning", which is a sort of mix bettween The Beatles and the band themselves, Green Day. Take Misery for another example. This song is a big step away from Green Day's old punky sound, with a serious melody, chucked full with banjos, violins, accordians... lots of instruments that you would have never imagined the band know as Green Day could have ever stumbled upon. But there are still rockin' songs on the album, which still contain many instrumental surprises bettween it all. Jackass is a pretty good example. This song rocks all the way, up until the middle where a saxophone steps in, making the song really cool n' jazzy! Green Day have changed, and for the good! I mean, with songs like 'Minority', Green Day's latest single, which has been hitting charts all over the world, who knows what's in store for the band in the near future... we'll have to wait and see, but I know it'll be a good future, that's for sure!
