Very enjoyable deep house/techno,
This review is from: In And Out Of Fog And Lights (Audio CD)
Spencer Kincy produced a much underrated album here for the Peacefrog label, his only one for them, so far, in fact.
True it's mostly aimed at the dancefloor, but what makes deep house so good is that when it is done well, it is able to be equally enjoyed just listening to it like on the stereo. It is farily minimalist, with beats, bare percussion and swooshing electronics now and then. But it does have plenty of groove.
'Pelargonium' and 'Z Funk' are wonderful songs, ones which should stay in your mind for a while, which is difficult for deep house songs to do.
In total, it's an enjoyable album, not exceptional but it's in the better albums category for sure, from the Peacefrog label.
