Very impressive debut album,
This review is from: How I Do (Audio CD)
I can't believe how undervalued this album has been for the past season, not only it is the coolest release alongside Swing out sister's "Somewhere deep in the night" latest CD and David Bowie's latest "Heathen" CD but also one of the finest debut albums of the past two years, probably the Goldfrapp debut album made such an impression on me.
Given the fact that I very rarely like current MTV much publicised R&B artists, I must say I inmediately liked Res though because her sound is impressively far more varied and stylish than the avarage. You'll find numerous pop gems, hip-hop, soul and rocky bits in equal parts with an indie flare spread all over which will appeal to an alternative audience for sure.
Res has a very natural voice, and definetely has a class of her own though reminiscent of extraordinary vocal performers such Stevie Nicks, she reminds me of Fiona Apple vocal works
sometimes too or even late Jeff Buckley but then those remind me of black artist Nina Simone... All of them Great vocal performers in any case...
