Great book - but not the greatest,
This review is from: Ordinary Thunderstorms (Paperback)
This is an exciting novel that got me hooked. Boyd keeps the suspense going and I couldn't put it down. It's a very good read.
The main character is a climatologist called Adam - his profession pretty irrelevant to the plot apart from helping form the strange book title. Boyd develops the main character well though sometimes Adam's actions are a bit out of character which made me empathize less than perhaps I could have done.
Overall the plot is clever and well structured. Sadly, however, the ending left me rather flat with a sense that the story never really lived up to its full potential, nor my expectations.
William Boyd is a a great writer. This is a great book, but not his greatest.
