It's better than previous 360's,
This review is from: Xbox 360 250GB Console (Video Game)I'm new to Xbox 360, I decided to get one as I play COD more on PS3 and I heard Black Ops is better on the 360 so :-
Better than previous models.
The fan is actually on top of the heat sink now so it will suck heat out more efficiently and quicker than previous Xbox.
I like the look of it, it looks like my PS3 60GB, with the chrome accent, touch controls and gloss black body.
Also the new models can output at 1080p! Previous Xbox 360's can not.
Its the best console for Call Of Duty? Well from my experience, MW2 looks exactly the same on both consoles if not it has a better connection on the PS3 as MW2 as of now has a update which 360 doesn't, Black Ops is by far better on 360 as Treyarch can't develop for the PS3.
Halo? Not my thing, its a franchise Microsoft will keep on milking till the max.
Nice addition of USB's so you don't have ugly wires coming out of the front.
Its still a lot louder than my PS3 60GB, the fan on the 360 is quieter but the DVD drive is just tooo noisy! Something MS should have definitely improved, not everyone wants to install the game on to the HDD, eating up unnecessary storage space. Trust me that 250GB will get filled up before you know it with demos, game patches, music, videos etc
No rechargeable controller, you get 2x AA batteries, really? C'mon, do you really have to charge us an extra £10 for a battery and USB?? The connection for charging is already on the controller so why not just include the battery and USB?
Also the fact the battery sticks out of the controller it restricts where you can put your fingers, I would have preferred if MS put the battery inside the controller like the PS3 controller so I can have more place to put my fingers.
Relying on a fan to pull hot air from the console may have been a bad move, the console gets hot! Would have been better to push hot air out.
The power brick is still huge, if the more powerful PS3 has a built in fan-less power supply, why doesn't the 360?
The Xbox doesn't have HDMI 1.4 or even 1.3 so it'll never be able to do true stereoscopic 3D. The PS3 barely manages full 3D with its HDMI 1,3 by sacrificing HD audio so Xbox is pretty much screwed there.
Adding a HDMI 1,3 would just alienate the current owners of the 360.
Is paying for online worth it? No. Just because it has a prettier interface doesn't mean you should have to pay for it.
Gears Of War fans will love the 360 this year but what about for everyone else? The exclusives lineup for the Xbox 360 is poor, really poor compared to the PS3's massive line up with a variety of games.
Also I've noticed that the Power brick is loud, it totally counteracts the quietness of the Xbox 360.
On a few occasions when I'm downloading something with the console turned of or charging the controller whilst the console is off, the DVD drive will randomly go to full speed for a few seconds.
The gloss back is a finger, dust and scratch magnet, you go to clean the dust off the console and you are left with hairline scratches.
Xbox Live is filled with kids on over 18's game and it gets annoying when they don't play the objective of the game, I have to mute them so using my mic 95% of the time is pointless.
DVD9 is limited by its storage size so games are starting to come on 3 discs, MS should have just used HD DVD for the 360 even though it lost to blu ray.
There's no 7.1 surround sound
If you're looking for a new console, go with the PS3, its much better and watching blu rays on my PS3 is absolutely amazing.
If you have a PS3 and want a better first person shooter experience, get the Xbox 360.
Also it might be just that I'm used to the PS controller but after an hour of MW2 and Black Ops gameplay, my left hand started hurting.
Overall I still prefer the PS3, better exclusives, better EA games, better hardware, quieter, doesn't have games with multiple discs, better graphics, better sound and more reliable.
