Interesting, but am undecided,
This review is from: Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)There are many interesting concepts and ideas in this book, and it was refreshing to see Christian writing which referred to many other religions and even non religious thought. I just had the feeling throughout though that it didn't have such a strong message for women. We have change thrust upon us in quite a different way to men as we age. The big M hits women all very diffently, some hardly at all, some dreadfully. Physical change is speeded up and are minds often reflect those hormonal changes. I have seen friends and relatives (no names please!) go from calm and fashionable to screaming banshees over the course of a number of years. No amount of philosophical contemplation would have helped some of them, sorry, this is Natures tough way with some (and I do emphasis some only). Some great ideas and it was well worth reading, but many people don't have the time to be this contemplative, or the energy to attempt it, even if they wish too.Maybe this book is better read in very old age, when life has calmed down a bit?
