This review is from: Intel 3rd Generation Core i7-3770K CPU (4 x 3.50GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 8Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0) (Accessory)
I’ve chosen 3770K over Intel’s 4th generation processor (Core i7 4770K) as I was concerned with the latter’s oveclocking abilities. 4770K runs much hotter and there is also a big chance it will not go over 4.2GHz. It is also marginally faster at the same clock speed.
The other reason to chose 3770K over the newer one was the slightly lower price for the motherboard and the CPU itself.
I was not disappointed and the processor passed an 8 hour Prime95 stability test at 4.5 GHz and 1,176V. The temperatures were in the upper 60’s C with my SilverArrow cooler which is perfectly acceptable.
