Great Card Very pleased! Sapphire AMD R9 290 TRI-X OC Graphics Card (4GB, HDMI, PCI-E),
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sapphire AMD R9 290 TRI-X OC Graphics Card (4GB, HDMI, PCI-E) (Accessory)
Upgraded from x2 7850's in Crossfire. Was expecting a small improvement but the jump was massive, but as usual with Sapphire I was very pleased. One thing to note is the card is massive. I had to bend my case and hdd caddy to get it into position (I have a full ATX not midi with Power supply at the top of the case). My rig is an AMD FX8350, 12gig 1600MHz Ram, and R290 (as above). These FPS are all with V-Sync on so my max FPS possible is 60fps. LOL - 60fps constant (max settings), Watchdogs - 45-60fps Ultra/High settings, DayZ Standalone - 55-60fps Max settings, WOW - 60fps max settings. Battlefield 4 - 60fps max settings, Metro Last light 30-60fps semi max settings (It does seem to struggle occasionally when one of the settings was turned on but did not impact my enjoyment of the game at all.) The stock cooling is more than sufficient for standard clock speeds, I haven't tried to OC as to be honest I just don't need to currently. I have noticed a big jump in the temperatures inside my case 35-55°C and my CPU has hit 65°C when playing Watchdogs. So max sure you have sufficient cooling in the case. Overall a very impressive card and well worth the upgrade.
