Good Viewer with some flaws you need to know about,
This review is from: Sony HMZ-T1 Head Mounted Display Personal 3D Viewer (MADE IN JAPAN) (Electronics)
keep it short n sweat ,
got these for £300 second hand , and for that money they are great , but £800 you will be disappointed I think
while the display is 720p it does not come over as that resolution while playing PlayStation 4 or Xbox one games
as screen looks a lot lower resolution , for 2d films its good very much like a cinema quality picture on a massive screen
and 3d fairs ok , would not say its brilliant but more its good , as 3d is still not quite here yet I think , once they double the resolution it will be , a year or 2 away I would have thought , but the 3d effect is quite good , do get pop out on certain films and crosstalk free , but still the best pop out is with LG passive TV's , even if you have to deal with the venetian blind effect.
the effect these give is best described as looking at a massive theatre screen from about 15 rows back dead centre seat
but the hard part is getting them to focus properly , took me 2 days of trial and error , first of all if you wear glasses for long distance keep them on , yep seems wrong as unit is a inch away from eyes , now you have 3 headrest to try and 2 straps that have about 10 positions to and eye lens shutter in unit that has about 6 positions, for me the best result was no forehead rest , I put a bit of black tape across front to stop it digging in head , I needed to do this because no matter what one eye was always slightly out of focus, this solved that problem , top head strap was half way and back head strap was full , worked a treat.
now a little bad news here foe all of you , the back head strap is elasticated rubber and will break over time , read up on net common problem , Sony will mend if under warranty , otherwise you will need to do a bodge job , I have put black tape at the spot it breaks to strengthen it ,
so there it is , I will give 4 stars at £300 and 3 stars at £800 , now the hmz-t2 and 3 as sorted the back strap breaking problem so you may want to lookout for them , or hopefully Sony will bring out a 1080p version soon and a ps4 version is hinted
