Return to Twilight if you want a decent vampire story!,
This review is from: 5: Nightfall: Nightfall (The Vampire Diaries: The Return) (Paperback)Phew, what a lot of plotline. More convoluted than spaghetti. And not as tasty.
Sinichi, were-fox, kitsune, malach - it all blurred after a while and I couldn't (or couldn't be bothered) to follow it all, all the time. If you dip in and out of the book, it becomes a little difficult to follow the plot; who's where and which dimensions they're in and even who's who. I found myself asking who's Isobel? half way through and really had to think hard to remember. It is complicated and I'm not sure anything is actually happening that much, other than Damon trying to be honest and Stefan being absent for much of the book - again, redolent of Twilight; get the hero out of the way so the underdog can have a go! I also felt there was a lot of running from here to there without much happening, which was just tiresome, frankly.
Not bad, not great, but certainly not like Twilight which I thought got better as it went on!
