very useful for reference,
This review is from: The Sewing Book (Hardcover)
I've been dressmaking for a couple of years now, and I quite often use this book as reference. Mostly I use the section that recommends the best needle size, thread type, and best seams to use for particular fabrics. I also use it to quickly double check certain techniques, such as seams that I don't use very often, or the best way to achieve a particular pleat or ruffle.
It doesn't contain much information on advanced sewing techniques, but it does provide a good solid base of information on most basic sewing techniques. I'd say that it is best suited to people who already have a small amount of sewing experience and just want a good reference material.
