Lol at the reviews for this Blu,
This review is from: Taken 2 (Blu-ray + UV Copy) (Blu-ray)So had this on US Blu for a couple of weeks now, yep it's pretty much a re-tread of the first but diluted to get extra box office. But, as like some have said, it's just an action, beer, suspend my daily life, it's the end of the week sorta film. As expected, the transfer is spot on and the sound bounces around the room. Should reckon the UK version will be the same. The extended cut adds bits that seem a bit "harder" than the original cut. And the alternate ending is.... Won't spoil it. So if you want a Jason Stathamish lite action flick (Instead of Liam's Ballymena accent) you will probably enjoy it (Talking or which get "Safe" easily Statham's best to date imo)
And personally would like to read some reviews of the disc that has been released, if ya know what I mean. We can all go to loads of movie sites to get a film review, would be nice to read a review of the actual disc, sound, pic etc... Is that why we invested in Blu in the first place?. Should Amazon lock reviews until it comes out? Just saying...
Fair play to Neeson, he does what he can with a light script... (SPOILIER ALERT, in Taken 3 the Horse his daughter got for her birthday in Taken 1 is sold to an Irish Meat Company and is ends up in a supermarket where every little helps!)
If you want a really bad movie with Neeson (Again he wanted a new house somewhere) try The Phantom Menace. Better Still pre order Schindlers List here for the complete opposite or, Gangs Of New York, Michael Collins, Kinsey, or even The Mission with De Niro.
This review is based on my region A release, solid picture and as you would expect a lively DTS HD 5.1 soundtrack (Please more 7.1 soundtracks would be nice like Dredd U.S for example!) Popped in here to order it for my Sis. She loves Neeson!
Now..... Where have I put that beer if you have taken it Grrrr...
