Consider alternatives for long life,
This review is from: Brasher Hillmaster II GTX Mens Boots - Brown (Misc.)
My first pair of Hillmasters were an exceptional boot, which I still wear today during the dry months at 11+ years old despite a complete lack of any tread remaining. When Brasher re-launched them after an absence from the shelves I immediately went out and bought a new pair without hesitation. Unfortunately the newer, Portuguese made product falls short of it's well built British predecessor. The leather lining is very poor and the lacing system nowhere near as solid.
That said, the boots are still very comfortable, waterproof, great for trails and hillwalking and have served me for many miles, but without a return to the quality of the old products I would look to Scarpa, Meindl or Zamberlan for my next pair. Unfortunately since losing the characteristic signature scrawled on the side and indeed the man himself, Brasher seem to have gone cheap.
