Customer Review

4 of 8 people found the following review helpful
2.0 out of 5 stars Not full speed for SSDs, 15 Jun. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Bipra 2nd Hard Drive Bay Caddy 9.5MM For Macbook Macbook PRO - 9.5mm Sata To Sata - Expand Your Data Storage on Your Laptop
Bought this and it is very good but only operates at 1.5 gbps not the full 3gbps which will throttle the operation of modern SSD Drives.

That's true, but I would have though anyone putting an ssd in it would put it in the main hd bay, and have the mechanical hd in the caddy

Just a quick question... Which model of Macbook did you have?
Because I just got the New 2011 MacBook Pro and I have read some reviews saying that 9.5mm Caddy doesn't seem to fit.

Its not the caddy, its by design from apple that it runs at 1.5gbps as it supposed to run an optical drive, still they could have used some commonsense and up'd the speed but recently i find they arent as bothered about thier customers as they used to be when i 1sy bought a mac!!
