Although the Shire Library are just an induction to specific subject, this particular one is very well written by Jonathan Wood, and leaves the reader in no doubt as to why the British Car Industry collapse. It lefted this reader waanting the find out more.
The book chronicles the industry's 109-year life, from the production of "hand-made bespoke automobiles" to the arrival of the mass production lines. Wood looks at the people and the factories where they worked, examines the roles of major players like Ford, Vauxhall, Rootes, and BMC.
