Plenty of Vision,
This review is from: Visions of Plenty (Audio CD)A superb offering from the sadly little known Kate Campbell.
The opener is a lively accoustic song about Struggling farmers in the South. Bowl a Rama is an excellent jaunty number about a bowler who missed a perfect game by 1 point. Some great humour here.
Crazy in Alabama is an excellent and thoughtful song that deals with racist issues in the deep south and sung over some excellent guitar work. Deep tang is another quiet song all about ruination of the earth. Kate is very aware of social issues but never forces opinions through her songs. Bus 109 is another lively song that deals with the school bus system introduced in the USA and what it meant for different people.
Perfect world is a solo piano effort and is superb. Funeral food gives a very humorous view of funeral get togethers.
All in all a superb album. Kate really does deserve to be musc better known.
