This review is from: Callanish (Paperback)
A (considerably) shorter than usual story from William Horwood.
The story of Creggan, a golden eagle, held captive in London Zoo - and his escape to freedom in Northern Scotland. It is not just an animal story - Mr Wolski the Sweeper also has his own journey to make, as he struggles to put behind him his POW days.
As with most of Horwood's stories, there are strong mystical and religious undertones - love, faith and belief overcome adversity - but they don't overly intrude on the narrative.
This is a simple story, well told and just the right length, suitable for both older children and adults alike.
But why is it classified as science fiction and fantasy!
