This review is from: Corsair CA-SP211UK SP2500 Gaming 2.1 Speaker System (Accessory)
The Corsair SP2500s are the best speakers you can buy for the money. Now I could leave the review there but that wouldn't be very helpful, so I'll gladly continue.
I looked long and hard for a speaker set that could top an old set of Sony 5.1s I own. Don't take the word "old" as a negative, these speakers were amazing. Beautiful, punchy bass complimented by clarity of both high and mid frequency that was to die for. I'm no audiophile but I know what I like, and upon hearing the Corsair SP2500s, I knew I was in love.
Let me say that for lower volume listening you should look away from these speakers, they're meant to be played loud. At lower volumes the frequencies meld into each other a little too much and they sound bog-standard, yet when you crank the volume wheel up a little they sing. I've personally found best use for these speakers to be for music. Whether it be D&B, Rock, Hip Hop or Pop these speakers make vocals and guitar solos stand out like never before, and make any form of bass punch you very directly in the nether regions. For games, in all honesty, they did not amaze me, they're great yes but I believe I was spoiled by my old Sonys.
I won't restate everything that has been stated before but I'll cover the basics. The remote is a very nice touch and the screen works perfectly. The only "Programmes" and EQs I use are Dynamic Pop, a must if you're listening to anything with bass, and Headphones which like it sounds, boosts audio quality in what could be lower tier headsets. Apart from that I haven't paid much attention, Late Night could be handy (which moves up lower end sound to the speakers themselves), but I prefer to just lower the bass.
Bottom line is this, in mid 2013 these speakers are still the best on the market for the price, you really cannot go wrong with the Corsair SP2500s. If you're like me and spend months comparing items, I can happily say go for these. The audio will give you the smack of sense you need when you let these bad boys sing.
