Makes Bjork sound sensible,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Far (Audio CD)
What are you lot thinking? 5 stars? At a stretch, there might be two songs on here. the rest of the album is like listening to somebody sitting at a piano and making up stuff as they go along... - Oh, I'm sorry, apparently it's SUPPOSED to sound like somebody sitting at a piano and making up stuff as they go along.
I'm 50 this year and I've been buying music since I was about 13 so you'd think I would have learned, but once in a while I still fall for what's in the reviews and the "best new artist since xxxxxx!" nonsense. More fool me. This has got to be THE most overhyped album I've heard since I fell for the previous ones (The Dears, Modest Mouse, The Aliens, Bird and the Bee, the list goes on...).
My wife is a nursery teacher and I have suggested she take the Regina Spektor CD into work because the 3-year olds will probably enjoy la-la-ing, tap-tap-ing and plink-plonk-ing along. The only other place I can think to put it is in the recycling. Utter tosh.

L. Sefton says:
Oddly enough, that's what I thought about her first few albums, but I actually got quite into this one. I think it condensed the creativity she obviously has (which up until now, has been the best compliment I could give her) into something a lot more listenable. By no means the best thing I've bought this year, but I think if she keeps on like this, there might be something really good to come.
